Game Phases

The 4 Moments of the System

Each phase defines key decisions, collective behaviours and trained automatisms. These are not descriptions — they are action protocols.

Key Player Decisions

Contexto:Ball at own goalkeeper
Decisión:Activate 3-2 build-up structure with hidden pivot
Auto:Centre-backs open wide, full-back pushes up, pivot drops between lines
Contexto:Numerical advantage in wide area
Decisión:Pin the inner defender and create passing lane into space
Auto:Third man appears at 45° from the ball carrier
Contexto:Possession in opponent's half
Decisión:Find player between lines to attract pressure and turn
Auto:Striker's dragging run + attacking midfielder's run in behind
Contexto:Opponent's low block
Decisión:Lateral circulation until vertical trigger is activated
Auto:Change of pace when line break is detected

Collective Behaviours

  • 2-3-5 structure in positional attack with wingers inside
  • Possession triangles with maximum 2 touches in zone 2, free in zone 3
  • Width provided by full-backs, depth provided by interior midfielders
  • The striker has freedom to drop — the system pushes the attacking midfielder to the reference point

Trained Automatisms

01

3-man build-up from goalkeeper: left CB receives, pivot offers inside, long ball to full-back if pressed

02

Mandatory circulation through minimum 2 stations before going vertical

03

If ball is in wide area → 5 players in the box within 4 seconds
